1. Who we are
Vantage Machines Ltd (“Vantage Machines”, “we”, “us”) is a company registered in England and Wales under company number 17479238, with its registered office at Unit 8-14, Space Solutions Business Centre, 39 Sefton Lane Industrial Estate, Liverpool L31 8BX, United Kingdom.
We are the controller of the personal data described in this policy. For anything related to your data, write to [email protected].
2. What this policy covers
This policy applies to vantagemachines.co and to every app published under the developer name “Vantage Machines Ltd” on the Apple App Store and Google Play (together, the “Services”).
Our apps do different things, so not every section applies to every app. Where an app processes data in a way this policy does not describe, we explain it inside that app or in a short supplement linked from its store listing. For that app, the supplement takes priority where the two differ.
3. This website
This website does not use cookies, analytics or advertising tags, and it does not load scripts, fonts or images from third parties. Like any website, our hosting provider receives technical request data (IP address, browser type, the page requested and the time) in order to deliver pages and protect the site from abuse. These logs are kept for a short period and are not used to identify visitors.
If you email us, we receive your email address and whatever you choose to include in your message.
4. Data we collect in our apps
Data you give us
- Account details — for apps that have accounts: an email address or a sign-in identifier from Sign in with Apple or Google, and any name or profile details you add. If you use Sign in with Apple and choose to hide your email, we only receive a relay address.
- Content you create — text, images, recordings or other material you enter or upload so the app can do its job.
- Messages to us — the contents of support requests and feedback, including any attachments.
Data created when you use an app
- Purchase records — payments are taken by Apple or Google, not by us. We receive confirmation of what was bought, when, in which country and at what price tier, together with a transaction identifier. We never receive your card details.
- Usage data — which screens and features are used, settings chosen, and session times.
- Device and diagnostic data — device model, operating system version, language, app version, an app-specific installation identifier, approximate region derived from IP address, crash reports and performance data.
Device permissions
Some features need access to things such as the camera, microphone, photo library, location or notifications. An app asks for that permission only when you first use the feature, and uses the access only for that feature. You can withdraw a permission at any time in your device settings.
Advertising identifiers
We only access your device’s advertising identifier where an app shows ads or measures ad campaigns, and only after you allow it through Apple’s App Tracking Transparency prompt on iOS or your ad settings on Android. If you decline, the app works the same way without it.
5. How we use data and our legal bases
UK and EU data protection law requires us to have a legal basis for each use of personal data. These are ours:
| Purpose | Legal basis |
|---|---|
| Creating and running your account and providing the features you use | Performance of our contract with you |
| Unlocking and restoring purchases and subscriptions | Performance of our contract with you |
| Answering support requests | Performance of our contract; our legitimate interest in helping users |
| Keeping the Services secure and preventing fraud and misuse | Our legitimate interest in protecting users and the Services |
| Fixing crashes and understanding which features are used, so we can improve them | Our legitimate interest in improving the Services, or your consent where the law requires it |
| Personalised advertising and ad measurement | Your consent, which you can withdraw at any time |
| Keeping tax and accounting records and responding to lawful requests | Compliance with legal obligations |
We do not use your data to make decisions that have legal or similarly significant effects on you based solely on automated processing.
6. Who we share data with
We do not sell your personal data. We share it only with:
- Service providers who process data on our behalf and under our instructions: cloud hosting and storage, crash reporting and analytics, subscription management, email and customer support tools. They are bound by contract to protect the data and may not use it for their own purposes.
- Apple and Google, which operate the app stores, process payments and handle refunds under their own privacy policies.
- Advertising partners, only in apps that show ads and only where you have given the consent described above.
- Authorities and advisers, where we must by law, or where it is necessary to establish or defend legal claims or to protect someone’s safety.
- A buyer or successor, if our business or an app is sold or reorganised. This policy would continue to apply to your data.
7. International transfers
Some of our service providers store or access data outside the United Kingdom and the European Economic Area, including in the United States. When that happens we rely on UK adequacy regulations, or put in place the UK International Data Transfer Agreement or the UK Addendum to the EU Standard Contractual Clauses, together with any additional safeguards that are needed.
8. How long we keep data
- Account data and content — while your account is open. After you delete your account, it is removed from our live systems within 30 days and from backups within a further 60 days.
- Purchase records — for six years, as UK tax law requires.
- Support correspondence — for up to two years after the conversation ends.
- Diagnostic and usage data — for up to 14 months, after which it is deleted or kept only in aggregated form that no longer identifies anyone.
9. Deleting your account
Any app that lets you create an account also lets you delete it from inside the app, usually under Settings → Account → Delete account. You can also ask us to do it by writing to [email protected] from the email address linked to the account.
Uninstalling an app does not delete your account, and deleting your account does not cancel a subscription. Subscriptions are managed by Apple or Google — see our support page for how to cancel.
10. Your rights
Under UK and EU data protection law you have the right to:
- access the personal data we hold about you and receive a copy of it;
- have inaccurate data corrected;
- have your data erased;
- restrict or object to our use of your data, including use based on our legitimate interests;
- receive data you gave us in a portable, machine-readable format;
- withdraw consent at any time, without affecting processing that took place before.
To use any of these rights, email [email protected]. We will reply within one month, and may need to confirm your identity first. Residents of other countries and US states may have similar rights under local law, and we will honour those requests in the same way.
If you are unhappy with how we handle your data, you can complain to the UK Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk, or to the data protection authority where you live. We would appreciate the chance to put things right first.
11. Children
Our apps are not directed at children under 13, and some are available only to adults. The minimum age for each app is shown in its store listing and inside the app. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children below that age. If you believe a child has given us personal data, contact [email protected] and we will delete it.
12. Security
Data is encrypted in transit, access to production systems is restricted to the people who need it, and we review our service providers before using them. No service can be completely secure, but if a breach affects your data we will tell you and the relevant authorities where the law requires.
13. Changes to this policy
We will update this policy when our Services or the law change. The date at the top shows when it last changed. If a change significantly affects how we use your data, we will tell you in the app or by email before it takes effect.
